He was the son of Virgil A. Manahan and Mary Florence McFarland. He graduated from Ada High School in 1944. He enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps in June, 1944, serving during WWII. Following the war, he moved to Tulsa and attended Tulsa University. He married Ruby Kimbrough in July, 1948 in Gainesville, TX. He worked for Kerr McGee Corporation and various gas plants before moving to Enid in 1963. In 1968, he started his own trucking business. He was a member of Central Christian Church. He was survived by two sons, one daughter and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother. Funeral held 1/30/2008 with The Rev. John McLemore officiating.
