"Joseph Esten Bowman, 69, a retired farmer died at 4:30 a.m. Sunday May 17 at the Small Rest Home in Waynetown. He has been in failing health for the past two years.
Mr. Bowman was born Aug 13, 1883 in Jackson Township, Fountain County, Indiana, son of Henry and Martha Bowman. In 1903 he married Ina Alward who preceded him in death.
Surviving are a son, Clarence of Wallace; a daughter, Mrs. Leoma Thompson of Bloomingdale; a brother Homer of Manteno Ill; two sisters Mrs Una Keller of Manteno and Mrs Ed Wildman of Wallace; four grandchildren and one great granddaugter. A brother and two sisters preceded him in death.
Funeral services were Tuesday in Waynetown with burial in the Wallace Luterhan Cemetery."
