Ronnie aka Ricky Akers, 53, of Eastlake, OH, departed this life Monday, June 12, 2006, at St. Mary's Hospital, Huntington, WV. He was on vacation visiting his mother and family at Hewett.
Preceding him in death was his father, Marvin Lee Akers, brother Zane Akers, sister Linda Mills, grandparents Bob Dent and Sadie "Wilson" Dent of Hewett, WV, and grandmother Unie Albright of Lake, WV.
Survivors include his wife of eight years, Janet; daughter, Veronica (Dave) Patyk of Painesville, OH; son, Ricky (Angie) Akers of Madison, OH; grandchildren, Alixa, Amber, Ashley and Ashiyah Akers of Madison, OH, and Dustin and Justuce Patyk of Painesville; 1 stepdaughter; 1 stepson; 3 stepchidlren; mother, Carlie Akers of Hewett, WV; sisters and brothers, Adele Holton of Danville, WV, Laura Sauvageau of Hagerstown, MD, Melvin Dwain (Lawana) Akers of Six Mile, Carson (Shelia) Akers of Hewett; Bobby (Kathie) Akers of Hewett; and Craig Akers of Hewett, WV; lifelong friend, Stanley Adkins of Hewett, WV; and several nieces and nephews.
Chapman Mortuary in Huntington is in charge of arrangements and a graveside service will be held at a later date.
