Simeon Walter Hosselton, well known and respected farmer of Zif Twp. passed away at his home July 7, 1943, following a brief illness. He suffered a cerebral hemorrhage.

Simeon Walter Hosselton, eldest son of Jesse & Elnora Hosselton, was born in Wayne County, IL, June 29, 1867, and departed this life at the age of 76 years and eight days.

He was united in marriage to Chloe Barnes December 24, 1902. To this union three children were born, Kenneth, Thelma, and Ethel.

He was one of Zif Twp. successful farmers, where he had spent his entire life, and had held various township offices.

He was converted at the Patterson M. E. church during a revival some 25 years ago but did not unite with any church.

He leaves his loving companion, three children, Thelma Orr, Kenneth Hosselton, and Ethel Hubble, a brother, Sammie; a sister, Lydia McConnell; two grandchildren, Cleta Fern Hubble & Revetta Hosselton. One sister and two half-brothers preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held at zif Baptist Church with burial in the Clay City Cemetery.
