SUSAN EVELYN TIPPIT-HARGROVE was born on 14 March 1836 in Alabama to John Lee Tippet & Mary Ann Kilgore. Susan was raised in the Baptist Church, and became a full member at the age of 14.

Susan married William Chester Hargrove on 9 December 1852 in Clairborne Parish, Louisiana, and they had FIVE children (that are known of):

Johnathan "John" Tippit Hargrove (1853-1926),
James Lafayette Hargrove (1855-1870),
Adalade "Addie" Gertrude Hargrove (1857-1925),
William C. Hargrove Jr. (1862-1950), and
Gary Otto Hargrove (1875-1962).

Susan passed away on 06 May 1911 at her daughter Adalade Bryarly's home in Sulphur Springs, and she was buried at the Sulphur Springs City Cemetery in Hopkins County, Texas.
