Betty Louise Haacke Winegar Call, wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on Jan. 20, 2008 at home.

Betty was born July 23, 1923 in Woods Cross, Utah to Stanley G. and Alice Hatch Haacke. She graduated from Davis High and later attended LDS Business College. On March 8, 1946, following World War II, she married Grant L. Winegar in the Salt Lake Temple. They moved to Payson, Utah where they raised apples, onions and five children. Betty loved her children equally and without reservations, always focusing on important matters. Grant died in 1971. In 1975 Betty met and married John (Jack) Robinson Call. During the next 33 years, they blended their two families into one. She grew to love Jack's family as her own and that love was reciprocated. Jack lovingly cared for her day and night until her passing.

Betty was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who loved her Heavenly Father deeply and was an example of righteousness and excellence to all who knew her. She served faithfully in several stake and ward Relief Society, Primary and other presidencies, played the piano and organ for countless meetings and most recently was an organist in the Provo Temple. She and her husband, Jack, served a genealogical mission where they microfilmed over 250,000 names in Rural Nevada for the Family History Department of the Church. To say Betty loved music is an understatement. She was an accomplished pianist in her youth and never stopped playing. Her home was filled with music as she practiced for church and civic performances and enjoyment. She loved to cook, sew, make candy, and entertaining friends and family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband and one brother, Lincoln Haacke.

She is survived by her husband, Jack; brother, Richard Haacke; five children, Bruce (Karen), New Jersey Cherry Hill Mission; Brian (DeLee), Heber City; Val (Pamela), Sparks, NV; Gregory (Leola), Santaquin; Alice (Lee R) Murdoch, Payson; 45 grandchildren and 77+ great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held on Thurs. January 24, 2008 at the Bountiful 9th Ward Chapel, 585 E. Center, at 1 p.m. A Viewing will be held Wed. January 23 at the Walker Mortuary, 587 S. 100 W, Payson from 6-8 p.m. and Thurs. 11:30 a.m. -12:45 p.m. at the Church.
Interment will be at the Bountiful Memorial Park.
