Birth: Jun. 11, 1832
Death: Mar. 23, 1902

Civil War Confederate Officer. This South Carolinian enlisted into the "Columbia Rifles" Company A, 15th South Carolina Infantry on August 15, 1861. Volunteering that day as a Sergeant, he was eventually promoted to 1st Lieutenant on July 23, 1863. Campbell survived the 4-year war after surviving a gunshot to his right thigh during the Battle of the Wilderness on May 6, 1864.
