Abner was one of three children of Thomas W Ingels and Elizabeth Katherine Bahr Ingels. Abner married Marie Eleanor Dowden Ingels. According to his cousin, Leonard M. Bahr [see memorial], Abner liked to play New Orleans style jazz on his piano.
