There is something wrong with the info provided from the obit. I haven't seen the obit, but I have been researching this family. Richard was married to Louisa Violet Major in 1878 (1900 census says 1877)--- Louisa Violet Major had a sister, Sophrona Major, but I have been unable to find anything much about her. You have Sophia Major Moseley as another wife of Richard. I see from the dates on the tombstones that Violet died in 1931---and the Sophia M. Major Moseley died in 1926---but Richard died before both of them in 1907. Richard and Violet are still together in the 1900 census and Violet has recorded on that census that she had 11 kids, 10 living in 1900. So I don't see where he cold have married this Sophia M. Major Moseley. When I was searching I did come across a Sophia Magalene Poope or Poole that was married to a Moseley in the same area.

I'm just trying to figure this out so it actually makes sense. I think a lot of people on ancestry have taken this info and made a mess of it---some have his wife now as Sophia Louisa Violet Major Moseley---which is definitely wrong. Is it possible that sister, Sophrona Major could have a tombstone in that same area and she has been misconstrued as a wife????? Hope you can help me----I always like it when things make sense --
