Florence Y. Kastner Amber, age 92, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away Sunday, January 13, 2008, at home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born September 22, 1915, in Xenia, Ohio, the daughter of Joseph M. Kastner and Sara Colp Kastner.

Along with her late husband, Edward B. Amber, she owned and operated Amber's Jewelers in Uniontown from 1940 until Eddie's untimely death in November 1961. She then operated the store with her children until December 1971.

Florence also worked for the American Red Cross and was retired from the now former Opall's Furniture Inc.

Florence was a longtime member of Temple Israel in Uniontown. She was a former member and officer with the Business and Professional Women (B.P.W.) and The Soroptimist International.

Surviving are her sons and daughter: Gordon and his wife, Carmella, of Hopwood, Pa., Phillip and his wife, Susan, of Lemont Furnace, Pa., Arnold and his wife, Cindy, of Hopwood, Pa., and Michelle and her husband, Larry Kline, of Alexandria, Virginia; three grandsons: Eric Amber and his wife, Lisa, Greg Amber and his wife, Tonya, and Kevin Amber and his wife, Tara; step grandchildren: Sheri Facer and her husband, Michael, Lianne Kline, Laurie Kline and Larry Kline III and his wife, Sarah; three great-grandchildren: Matthew Amber, Michael Amber and Maria Amber; three step great-grandchil-dren: Rochelle Busby, Evan Busby and Alan Busby; two sisters: Clara Barr of Newton, Massachusetts, and Mitzi Saeman of Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, Hopwood, Pa., today from 2 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, January 15, 2008, from 1 p.m. until 1:30 p.m., the hour of the Service with Rabbi David Feder officiating.

Interment will follow in Hebrew Cemetery, Hopwood, Pennsylvania.
