Isaac T. Parker, one of the well-known citizens of Boone County, died at his home three miles southeast of the city on Thursday afternoon, September 1, at 2:15 o'clock. The deceased was taken ill nearly three years ago and for a time his life was despaired of. He rallied from that illness and enjoyed fairly good health until the Friday preceding his death. His last illness was short and he sank rapidly. Medical aid seemed of no avail. Isaac T. Parker was forty six years of age, having been born in Boonsboro January 28, 1858. His parents were Robert and America Ann Parker, among the early settlers of Boone County. On September 18, 1879, he was united in marriage to Cornelia Ann Payne, daughter of James R. and Mary Payne. To this union were born nine children, three boys and six girls, as follows: James R., Wilbur R., Lulu M., Laura M., Nellie B., Daisy B., Mary L., Zoe L, Isaac T. To mourn his death are the above children, his wife and aged father. Three sisters and one brother have preceded him to the grave. When taken ill two or three years ago he became a member of the M.E. church and remained steadfast to the end.
