| Birth: | Oct. 17, 1817 | | Death: | Sep. 12, 1880 |  Civil War Confederate Major General. He moved to Illinois following the Civil War, and became a farmer. He was popular and well-liked by his neighbors, many of which went up against his troops during the war. In 1975, when they decided to move his body to be beside his wife Mary in Nashville, they discovered that the casket had deteriorated and only a few bones remained, so those were taken to Nashville.
