Victor A. Abitz Sr.. 82, of 179 N. Bell St., died Saturday, Aug. 8, 1998, at ManorCare Health Services. He was born July 23, 1916, in Chilton, the son of Frank and Clara Brahm Abitz. On July 23. 1940, he married Emma L. Drehmel at the Church of Peace. Mr. Abitz was a member of the Church of Peach. He worked for Sadoff Iron & Metal for 11 years, and was employed with Simon Greene for the 31 years prior. Survivors include five daughters. Emma (Steve) Ferneau of Yacolt, Wash., Carol (Andrew) Brandl, Barb (Eli) Gustafson, Kathy (Dennis) Burg, all of Fond du Lac. and Sandra (Daniel) Stokley of Milwaukee; two sons; Victor A. ( Beverly) Abitz Jr. of Fond du Lac, and Ron (Katheryn) Abitz of Eden; 29 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; three brothers, Leonard Abitz and Norman Abitz, both of Fond du Lac, and Leroy Abitz Sr. of Eldorado. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife on June 2, 1994; two daughters, Shirley and Alice; two granddaughters, Diane Brandl and Samantha Abitz; one sister, Viola Lange; and four brothers, Will, Harold, Raymond and Lester. Services: Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Church of Peace. The Rev. Gerald Bertsch will officiate. Burial will be at Estabrook Cemetery.
