Edna (Dena) was the 6th child born to Arthur Thompson and Mary Agnes Hewitson. She married Harold Macy Fox on Dec. 2, 1928. They are the parents of three children: Bruce, Sandra, and Sharron.
Her obituary in The News Tribune stated: "Passed away July 2nd on Vashon Island, Washington. She was born July 16, 1907 in Red Lodge, Montana to parents Mary Agnes and Arthur Thompson. She married Harold Macy Fox in 1928. Edna is survived by her children Bruce Fox (Marilyn), Sandra Whitney, Sharron Powell (Vern); 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grand- children; sister Hazel Schmeil of Bellingham, WA; and many nieces and nephews. Mom will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor, her skill and expression in reciting poetry, and her love of travel in her later years. She was a nurse in her early years and then worked at Mt. Rainier Ordnance Depot and Camp Murray until retiring and moving to Bellingham. We'll miss you, Mom. A special thank-you to Virginia Hopper and staff at the care home for their wonderful, loving care. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that remembrances be made to the charity of your choice. Graveside service Thursday, July 8, 2004, 1 p.m., Haven of Rest Cemetery, Gig Harbor, WA.
