OLIVE DOWELL
Olive Dowell, 85 of Brookfield, died Friday, Feb. 28, 2007 at her son's home in Kansas City.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Mar. 3, 2007 at Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home in Brookfield. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery in Brookfield.
Olive was born June 18, 1921 in Musselfork, the daughter of Charlie and MayBelle (Welch) Hedrick. She married Donald Eugene Dowell on Mar. 13, 1939. He preceded her in death on July 5, 1995.
Mrs. Dowell had worked for Brown Shoe Co. in Brookfield for many years. She was a member of the Boot & Shoe Workers Union and the American Kennel Club. She had also owned a dog breeding business and she was a Baptist.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Lindi Dowell of Kansas City; six grandchildren, Kaylee and Kristn Dowell of Kansas City, and Tyson, Ryan, Danny and Blaine Bartlett of Brookfield; one sister, Ethel Mae Peavler of Brookfield; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Floyd Bartlett; one sister, Cora Blew; and one brother, N.F. Neighbors.
