Funeral service for Charles A. Hammer, 85, former Princeville resident who died in Peoria at 1:30 p.m. Friday after being in failing health for four years, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Bouton Memorial Home in Princeville.
The Rev. Richard Mader of the Methodist church will officiate. Burial will be in Princeville Cemetery.
Friends may call at the memorial home after 4 p.m. Monday.
Born at Princeville, Feb. 8, 1872, Mr. Hammer was the son of Henry and Emma Metzel Hammer. He married Anna Martin May 20. 1895. She preceded him in death.
Surviving are three sons, Dewey Hammer of Edesltein, Clyde of Mason City, Iowa and Verlin Hammer of Peoria; four daughter, Mrs. Bertha Frame, Mrs. Erma Short, Mrs. Letha Lockwood, all of Peoria; one brother Fred Hammer of Kissimmee, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. George Custer and Mrs. Charles Harbers, both of Peoria; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. A son, Harlan Hammer, preceded him in death.
