ELLA MAY HERRIOTT
Ella May Francis, daughter of James H. Francis and Willie May, his wife, was born Jan. 26, 1888 and departed this life Jan. 13, 1928 at the home of her mother in La Plata, being at the time of her death 39 years, 11 months and 18 days of age. On Dec. 22, 1907 she was united in marriage to Q.M. Herriott. To this union was born two children, Mrs. Leroy Calvert of Denver, Colorado, and John Harriott of Canon City, Colorado. When quite young she united with the Star Christian Church and lived a true Christian life until the summon came for her to lay down the toils of this life. She leaves her devoted husband and son of Canon City, her daughter of Denver, her mother and step father, Mr. & Mrs. Gid Moncrief; a sister, Mrs. Dessie Redman of Owenton, Kentucky; two half-sisters, Mrs. Nina Walters of Emporia, Kansas, and Miss Louise Moncrief of La Plata; a brother, Elmer Francis of Novelty; a half-brother, Roy Moncrief of La Plata; and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Jan. 15 from the New Harmony Church. Burial was in the church cemetery.
