She was born May 20, 1914, in Chippewa Falls to Theophile and Margaret (nee Comeford) Girard. After graduating from Notre Dame High School in Chippewa Falls, she married Clarence J. "Zeke" Kloss at Notre Dame Catholic Church.
In her later years, she was a hostess at McDonald's on Hastings Way in Eau Claire. Eleanor enjoyed her last years under the care of her extended family at Grace Edgewood
Eleanor is survived by two sons, William Kloss of Eau Claire and Kenneth (Ken Ragan) Kloss of Ellijay, Ga.; 10 grandchildren, Mike (Leisa) Kloss of Chetek, Dan (Patty) Kloss of Fishers, Ind., Cathy Marie (Butch) Goss of Brackett, Pat Kloss of Fort Wayne, Ind., Sue (Dan) Flug of Hayward, Joe Kloss of Chippewa Falls, John (Jodi) Kloss of West Salem, Karla Thompson of Eleva, Rob (Karisa) Kloss of Boston, and Billy Kloss of Marshfield; and a sister, Laverne Baker of Chippewa Falls. She is further survived by 14 great-grandchildren, a great-great-granddaughter, and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two sons, Gerald and Robert; parents; three brothers; and two sisters.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 448 N. Dewey St., Eau Claire. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Parish Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7, at Plombon's All Faiths Funeral and Cremation Service, 1405 N. Clairemont Ave., Eau Claire, where a 7 p.m. parish vigil service will be held. Further visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. (There will be no visitation at the church.)
