DEATH OF AN OLD COLONIST.—The
death of a very old colonist occurred near
Millicent on Wednesday, April 1st, when
Mrs. Maria Elizabeth Schulz died at the
residence of her daughter, Mrs. J. Brooks.
The deceased lady came to Australia in
the ship King George on November 2nd,
1838, and had therefore spent nearly
sixty-five years in this part of the Empire.
She was 84 years old, and leaves a family
of 3 sons, 3 daughters, 41 grandchildren
and 19 great grandchildren. The funeral
took place yesterday. when a large number
of relatives and friends followed the.
body to the grave in Mayurra* Cemetery.
*Millicent Cemetery was originally known as Mayurra Cemetery.
