Daughter of James Baker Thistle and Mary Ellen Soper. Born at the Thistle Farm on land that is now New Martinsville. Married to William Lloyd West on 18 Oct 1905. He was born in 1849 and died 08 Aug 1918. Ida committed suicide using gas from her oven, apparently due to her worsening poor health. She was losing her vision, among other things.
