She was born in Fairday, Va., to the late Mont Elden & Laura Ellen McGlothlin and was the widow of Roy Shortridge. Mrs. Shortridge was a resident of Pounding Mill, Va., since 1957. She was employed at Honaker Mills and Eastern Isles in Richlands until the closing of the garment factory. She was of the Holiness Faith.
She was preceded in death in addition to her parents and husband by two brothers, Jones Justin & Ritter Mack McGlothlin; two sisters, Elsie Mae Harris & Mary Irene Hess; and one special son-in-law, Carl Pack.
Survivors include two daughters, Anna Mae Pack and Mattie (Marie) Shortridge; one son, Roy Roger Shortridge & wife Shirley Ann; one grandson, Danny Albert Shortridge; one granddaughter, Jennifer Lynn Shortridge, all of Pounding Mill, Va.; two sisters, Ola Dotson of Rowe, Va., and Mattie Boyd of Rowe, Va.; several nieces and nephews also survive. Special friends include Randall Richardson, Clayton & Elizabeth Vandyke, Ted & Jewell Arrington, Becky & Caramae Totten, Ellis & Penny Harman & Family, Maxine Freeman, and the late Floyd Allen Howington & surviving family.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday December 24, 2007 in the Singleton Funeral Service Chapel in Cedar Bluff, Va., with the Rev. Ancil Childress & the Rev. Leon O'Quinn officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens Cemetery at Claypool Hill, Va.
Pallbearers will be Garland Shortridge, Belford Shortridge, Danny Shortridge, Gerald Hess, David Ray, Clayton Vandyke, Bobby Richardson, Ellis Harman & Randall Richardson.
The Family will receive friends at the Singleton Funeral Service in Cedar Bluff, Va., from 6-9 p.m. Sunday.
