The NWI Times, (Northwest Indiana & Illinois Times) December 31, 2007 > Jesse Wayne Alsup, 82, of Hammond, passed away December 27, 2007. He was born Aug. 3, 1925 a son of Levi Jackson "Jack" Alsup and Edna Louisa (Beaury) Alsup. He is survived by his daughter Brenda (Richard) Smith of Hammond, IN; three sons, David (Anne) Alsup of IL., Dean (JoAnn) Alsup of IL., and Kenneth (Minde) Alsup of GA,; daughter-in-law Lydia (late Dennis) Alsup of TN. 11 grandchildren, Mark (Janet) Smith, Matt (Chrissy) Smith, Monroe Smith, Tanya Latham, David (Angie) Alsup, Lindsey Alsup, Amber Alsup, Wayne Alsup, Dwight (Stephanie) Alsup, Ron Alsup and Adam Cygan; and 20 great grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret (Bobby) Vickery of FL. and Eva (James) Bowling of AR, and one brother Richard Alsup of CA. He was preceded in death by his wives, Donna Joyce Beacham Alsup (1929-1988) and Mrs. Rose Fuller Estep Malishenko Alsup, (1928-2004) and a son Dennis Alsup. Graveside funeral services will be held on Thursday January 3, 2008 at 9:30 a.m. at Clarendon Hills Cemetery, Darien, IL., with Rev. Don Rector officiating. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Wednesday, January 2, 2008 from 2-7 p.m. at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road, Highland, IN. Mr. Alsup attended Liverpool Baptist Church. He retired from Cement Masons Local 83 after 28 years of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Calumet area.
