Solomon Smith Hudiburg was the son of Joseph Amos Hudiburg and Jane Hardin. He was the oldest sibling of six born to this couple.
He married first, Rachel Calhoun on 19 Aug 1857 in Hardin County, Tennessee. Rachel would die 16 May 1860 and they would have no children. She is buried in the Olive Hill Cemetery, Olive Hill, Tennessee.
He married second, Rachel Covey on 5 Dec 1860 in Hardin county, Tennessee, and they would have eight children.
The children were: John Gipson(1861-1919), Joseph Amos(1863-1934), Russell Ray(1864-1885), Mary Jane called Jennie(1866-1963), Jesse Walker(1868-1950), Nancy Elizabeth(1869-1908), Rachel Josie(1872-1947) and Solomon Amos(1876-1942).
Rachel died in 1885--Sol married third, Nancy Murchinson Cook Hardin. This marriage would end in divorce.
About 1905 he moved to Oklahoma, where three of his children, daughter Nancy and sons, John Gip and Joseph were living with their families.
He would die in Paden, Oklahoma close to the farm where his
son Joseph lived in 1918. He was listed on his death certificate as a retired farmer.
