John was born in Hanford, California to Joseph and Delores Orique. He was raised with his siblings, Brenda, Frank, Pam, Sonya, and David in Kingsburg, California. John attended local colleges. He worked as an EMT II in Kings County for several years. John was awarded special recognition, while working ambulance by the California Highway Patrol. He disarmed a person attempting to stab a CHP officer. This heroic award was the first issued to a non police officer from the CHP. John later completed the COS Police Academy and earned his P.O.S.T. John loved working on his cars. It did not matter if it was an oil change or a restoration project, he loved it all. He had a collection of Craftsman tools that was most impressive! John was good to everyone he met. He was a good man and he is terribly missed.
