I have a letter written by his wife, Ethel, on Feb 18, 1947 to his nephew, Virgil Clark, in Texas stating that Uncle Jim passed away Feb 6. She says that he was in bed only 10 days before the end came. She said that he had not been well for some time but got weaker all at once. They lived only about a mile from the Alpine cemetary. She said that he was buried on Sat. Feb. 8.

Jim Clark's brother, Robert Crittendon, was my g-grandfather. Virgil Clark was Robert's son and my great-uncle.
