She died on December 21, 1918, two days after her sister Pauline's birthday. They all died from the flu epedimic of 1918. Her sisters, Pauline Hope Comstock, Mildred Elaine Comstock and Margaret Rose Comstock went to live with their paternal grandparents, Elonzo Ervan Comstock and Nancy Jane Davis Comstock. Her sisters were not allowed to go to the funerals, as it was assumed that one could catch the flu even from someone who was dead. The two oldest girls, Pauline and Mildred, watched from the church door at their mother's funeral.
