OBITUARY:
Milton P. Erben, age 77, of New Braunfels, passed away, Friday, December 21, 2007 at the McKenna Memorial Hospital. He was born in Comal County to Bruno Erben and Katie (Bechtold) Erben on August 19, 1930. He married Sylvia Hubertus on October 7, 1950 in New Braunfels. Milton was a faithful member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and was among the first few to become a Eucharistic Minister. He was a member of the Circle of Mary, a 4th Degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus and also served Sts. Peter & Paul Church by volunteering seven years as Church Business Manager after his retirement from Mission Valley Textile Mill. He was also a member of the German American Society, a Chamber of Commerce volunteer and Past President of the Comal I.S.D. School Board. He also volunteered with the Solms Water System from its beginning until it became a part of New Braunfels Utilities. Milton enjoyed dancing to Polka Music, traveling abroad and spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Sylvia Erben of New Braunfels; daughters, Donna Durst and husband Robert of Fredericksburg, Linda Snider and husband Larry of New Braunfels, and Nancy Jackson and husband Dean of New Braunfels; sons, Phillip Erben and wife Sharon of Corpus Christi, Jeff Erben and wife Judy of Austin, Glen Erben and wife Michelle of New Braunfels, and Willie Erben and wife Renee of New Braunfels; grandchildren, Robyn Durst, Coy Snider and wife Michelle, Aaron Snider and wife Jaymie, Drew Snider and wife Dianna, Kenneth Erben and wife Erin, Kelly Hasse and husband Theo, Kevin Erben, Karl Erben, Lacey Jackson, Whitney Jackson, Robert Jackson, Sharon Doring and husband Nathan, Erica Aurora and husband Tim, Jessica Erben and fiancé Robert Jentsch, Warren Erben and Rilie Erben; 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Lorine Wenzel and husband Anthony of Universal City; brothers-in-law, Monsignor Albert Hubertus and Lawrence Hubertus; sister-in-law, Dorothy Moose; and numerous nieces and nephews. Milton was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Marvin Erben and wife Wilma; sisters, Lonie Vogt and husband George and Annie Harborth and husband David; granddaughter, Lindsey Jackson; brothers-in-law, Monsignor Gerald Hubertus, Arthur and wife Mildred Hubertus and Odell Moose.

Public visitation will begin 1:00 PM Wednesday, December 26, 2007 at the Zoeller Funeral Home and will continue until 5:30 PM. A Vigil Service and Rosary will be held 7:00 PM at the Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, December 27, 2007 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church with Monsignor Albert Hubertus - celebrant. Entombment will follow in Sts. Peter & Paul Mausoleum. Memorial contributions may be given to Hope Hospice of New Braunfels, the St. Joseph Chapel Restoration Fund, or to Sts. Peter & Paul Building Fund.
