He was preceded in death by one daughter, Dorothy Jean Campbell; his parents, Millard and Bernice Campbell; and two sisters, Ernestine Halford and Florine Davis.
He was survived by his wife, Mittye Allen Campbell of Baton Rouge, LA; two daughters, Betty "Sis" Campbell Purvis of Denham Springs, LA and May E. "Baby" Campbell of Baton Rouge; one son, James M. Campbell of Vicksburg; three brothers, Rudolph Campbell of Beaumont, TX, Clyde Campbell of Natchez and William H. "Dub" Campbell of Ocean Springs; 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
