Regina F. Harris, 97

Regina Forrer Harris, 97, of Oak Lea Nursing Home in Harrisonburg, died Thursday night, Dec. 27, 2007.

She was born Feb. 10, 1910, in Augusta County, a daughter of the late John and Nellie Forrer of Stuarts Draft.

Mrs. Harris was a graduate of Stuarts Draft High School and attended Madison College.

She lived at Friendship Manor in Roanoke and was a member of the Williamson Road Church of the Brethren and their choir.

In February 2003, she moved to Oak Lea Nursing Home in Harrisonburg.

She was the last surviving member of her family. Three sisters preceded her in death, Catherine Ritchie, Virginia Kenney and Nellie Werner, four brothers, John, Charles, William and Samuel.

Surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, 2007, at Mt. Vernon Church of the Brethren Cemetery by Pastor Garold Sengers Jr.

Memorial donations may be made to the Samaritan Fund, VMRC, 1475 Virginia Ave., Harrisonburg, VA 22802.

There will be no formal visitation at the funeral home. However, anyone wishing to view her body may visit Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes of Waynesboro between 12 noon and 5:00 p.m. today.
