Capt. Rowdy J. Inman of Panorama Village, Texas was a 1986 King High School graduate and member of the school's Navy Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps. He graduated from the Army Reserve Officer Training Corps Advanced Camp at Fort Lewis, Tacoma, Wash., in 1999, where he received training in military leadership, communications, management and survival training. He graduated in 2000 from Sam Houston State University with a Bachelor of Science in military science. He was commissioned by the U.S. Army in May 2000. Rowdy was a also veteran of Desert Storm. As a career military officer, Inman participated in multiple deployments, including Desert Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF I, OIF III, OIF V), and Operation Just Cause. His awards included the Bronze Star Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Purple Heart, Meritorious Service Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Achievement Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal with Bronze Service Star, Southwest Asia Service Medal with three Bronze Service Stars, Iraqi Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officers Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Kuwait Liberation Medal in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait Liberation Medal in Government of Kuwait, Combat Infantryman Badge, Combat Action Badge, Expert Field Medical Badge, Parachutist Badge and the Valorous Unit Award with Oak Leaf Cluster. He died in Mosul, Iraq, of wounds suffered from small arms fire during dismounted combat operations at age 38. He was married and the father of three children.
