Sarah Ann/Annie is daughter of John Stanier/Stanyer and Emma Davies. Her father was a potters printer who died in 1881. Sarah began working in pottery at young age to help her widowed mother support her 3 living siblings.
Sarah married William Bowers, August 2, 1885, St. Margaret Church, Newcastle Under Lyme, Staffordshire, England. William came to US in 1893 to work in Trenton potteries and live near his two sisters there.
Sarah followed in 1894 with her four children, having lost a daughter Sarah Emma in 1888. One more child, Ernest, was born in Trenton NJ in 1895. Sadly, she was widowed in 1896 and some of her children had to be sent to other relatives and foster families for care, two in Delaware. Eventually all reunited and lived in NJ except for son Frederick Percy who remained in Delaware.
Sarah married Henry Gillam November 22, 1902 and they had two children, Laura and Henry.
For many years they resided at Perrine St building of Provisions Co. that made Taylor Pork Roll where Henry worked as a butcher most of his life.
