| Birth: | Oct. 31, 1915 Divernon Sangamon County Illinois, USA | | Death: | Feb. 9, 2007 Portage Kalamazoo County Michigan, USA |  Professional Football Player. After graduating from Divernon High School, he went to Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. He was a two-time all-Midwest and all-Missouri Valley Conference fullback. Besides playing football, he also lettered two years in track and field. He was drafted in the second round by the Philadelphia Eagles in 1938. He played with the Eagles from 1938 to 1940 and with the Chicago Cardinals in 1942 and 1943, for a total of five seasons in the NFL. He then joined the Navy and played on a service team at Camp Peary in 1944 and the Pearl Harbor Pacific All-Stars in 1945. He was inducted into the Washington University Sports Hall of Fame in 1993.
