Bruce Garver, whose grandfather Fred Garver (1881-1953) was a first cousin to Joseph Kinzig's wife, Emma Marie (Bender) Kinzig, wrote the following "bio" and solicits suggestions for its improvement: According to the "Ohio Death Records, 1908-1932, 1938-2018", Joseph Kinzig, the son of Charles Kinzig and Maggie Beckman Kinzig, was born on August 8, 1881, in Dayton, seat of Montgomery County, Ohio. The "Ohio County Marriage Records, 1774-1993", Film No. 001030848, state that on August 8, 1905, Joseph Kinzig wed Emma Marie Bender (1882-1971), the daughter of German immigrant John Peter Bender (1851-1936) and Indiana-born Ernestine (Pfluger) Bender (1857-1937). Joseph and Emma Marie (Bender) Kinzig raised one son, Ellsworth Joseph ("Bud") Kinzig (1918-1999), and three daughters, Marcella Kinzig (Benson, 1906-1993), Lilian Marguerite Kinzig (Mrs. Isaac E. Norris, 1912-2009), and Marjorie E. Kinzig (Mrs. Robert N. Lovett, 1921-2018). The records of the Woodland Cemetery and Arboretum state that Joseph Kinzig died at the age of seventy-nine on January 12, 1961, in Dayton, Ohio, and was interred there at Woodland Cemetery and Arboretum in Section 126, Lot 273.
