Born Albert James Heare, son of John William Heare and Mary M. Henderson. His father was from Hampshire Co., VA/WV and his mother from Sweden. His parents moved from Illinois and settled in Ludlow, Livingston, MO.
Albert married Minnie Elizabeth Reed around 1893 and they had one daughter, Helen. In about 1902, Albert, Minnie and Helen moved to St. Louis, MO and there changed the spelling of Heare to how it is pronouced, Hare.
