Funeral services for Mrs. Marlin Bernice Rayborn, age 87, of Gladewater, will be conducted at Beaty Funeral Home, in Winnsboro, at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 28, 2007. Rev. Jimmy Ross will officiate.

Interment will follow services in the Piney Grove Cemetery, in Upshur County. Grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, August 27, 2007, at the funeral home.

Mrs. Rayborn passed away on Friday, August 24, 2007, at Legend Oaks Nursing Home. She was born on July 18, 1920, the daughter of the late Daniel Webster Acker and Neomia Fuller Acker. She married Odis Harold Rayborn. He preceded her in death.

Mrs. Rayborn was a seamstress, a volunteer at the Pines Nursing Home for many years, and was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Winnsboro.

Survivors include: a daughter, Mrs. Doris Jean Rayborn Johns; sons, Eugene "Pee Wee" Rayborn, J.C. Rayborn, Mackie Rayborn, and John Rayborn; a brother, Travis Acker; sixteen grandchildren; and twenty-three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
