Santa Clara County
Major League Baseball Player. A native of Bellingham, Washington, he was a pitcher for four seasons (1946, 1948 to 1950) with the New York Yankees and St. Louis Browns. He was a member of the 1949 World Champion Yankees contributing three wins that season mainly in a relief role without a loss. However, he did not appear in the 1949 World Series. Control problems (walking 158 batters in 185 innings) would limit his playing time in the big leagues. In 73 career games, he won 7 and lost 7 with a 5.98 lifetime ERA.
