HAYNESVILLE, LA - Funeral services for Mrs. Doreen Smith Vines will be held 3 P.M. Wed., December 19, 2007 at Bailey Mortuary Chapel. Burial will follow in Colquitt Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Mortuary. Mrs. Vines passed away Monday, December 17, 2007 in Homer, LA.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 18, 2007 from 4 until 7 P. M. at Bailey Mortuary, Haynesville.

Mrs. Vines was born on October 21, 1924 in Exeter-Devon, England to Henry and Mary Smith and a long time resident of the Colquitt community. She was a retired LPN and worked at the Homer Hospital for a number of years. Doreen met her husband of 59 years, James Edward Vines, Sr, while serving in the English Army during World War II while he was serving in the army for the United States.

Preceding her in death was her husband, her parents, and one son, James Edward Vines, Jr.

Survivors include one son, Edward Vines and wife, Angelee of Haynesville, LA, 4 daughters: Ovelia Smith and husband, Steve of Sarepta, LA, Brenda Owen and husband, James of Star City, AR, Hilda Vail and husband, Hollis, Jean Monk and husband, Shelby all of Haynesville, LA, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers will be Shawn Vines, Aaron Vines, Curtis Dison, Jose Cabrales, Donald Klick and Tyler Stevenson.
