Marge passed away on Thursday morning, December 13, 2007 at her sister's home in Baker with her family at her side.
Marjorie Elaine Lossing was born on November 21, 1948 in Plentywood, MT, the daughter of James Howard and Rose Marie (Andersen) Lossing. She was baptized at Faith Lutheran Church in Wanso. As a young girl, Marge grew up on the family farm at Redstone, MT. She attended the Wanso country school and graduated from Plentywood High School. After graduation, Marge attended MSU in Billings, MT for two years. After attending MSU, Marge took a job with the Montana Bank in Plentywood.
On January 12, 1977 the love of Marge's life, her son Jason Howard Lossing was born. In that same year Marge and Jason moved to Baker to live and in March she went to work at M & M Equipment north of Baker. Marge took a job at the Montana Bank in Baker, and worked there until it sold out. Marge began working at the Anfinson's store in Baker, and worked there as the store changed ownership. When the store became known as Running's, Marge was promoted to manager. Marge loved her work at the store. She never knew a stranger, and made it a point get to know each of her customers and their families.
Christmas time was her favorite holiday; she enjoyed traveling around town to see all the lights and outdoor decorations. The springtime was her favorite season of the year. She and her niece, Lana had a passion for gardening and flowers. She enjoyed her angel collection, embroidering, crocheting, camping and loved to read cookbooks. Flying kites was another love she had, and always had a kite in her car! Marge was also a member of the American Lutheran Church in Baker.
In 1996, Marge lost her son; Jason to a car accident and a year latter began her life battle with cancer. Through her perseverance and determination Marge took on the disease, fighting it to the very end. Marge never wanted pity from anyone and in her last weeks of life said there were people who needed help more than she did. She was very humble and always wore a smile. Marge and her best friend and sister, Vickie, were always together. Vickie was a second mom to Jason just as "Aunt Marge" was to all of Vickie's children.
Marge is survived by her Mother, Rose Marie Lossing, Redstone, MT; a sister, Vickie (John) Bailey, Baker, MT; six special nieces and nephews who became her life, Josh Benedict, Lana (Arlin) Shipstead, Sarah (Brandon) Melchoir, "Budd" James Benedict, Leslie (fiancÚ, Jeremy Dishon) Benedict and Sheldon Benedict; six grand nieces and nephews, MaKenzy, Mazzie, Lilly, Griffin, Shelby and Cobin; one brother, James (Beth) Lossing, Redstone, MT; a sister, Louise (Loren) Gobbs, Bismarck, ND and their children Ryan (Tanya) Gobbs and Cody Gobbs; a special former brother-in-law, Paul Benedict, Payson, AZ;.
