W. T. Bennett, son of John Gaston Bennett and Malissa West Bennett, reared in Slate Springs and Sabougla, moved to Big Creek in 1907. He was married to Eunice Bounds Ross on March 10, 1937.
Survived by four step-children, Mrs. Hazel Moates and Mr. Winfred Ross of Birmingham, AL, Mrs. Ernestine Herndon of Meridian, MS, Mrs. Beatrice House of Memphis, TN; two brothers, Mr. Price Bennett of Big Creek and Mr. Paul Bennett of Lambert; two sisters, Mrs. Clelia Ellard of Pittsboro and Mrs. Clyde Boland of Big Creek.
