Corporal Kenneth R. Foreman of Brown County, Ohio is coming home after 71 years. Kenneth was serving in the US Army during the Korean War as a member of Company A, 1st Battalion, 32 Infantry Regiment, 7th Infantry Division. He was reported missing in action and ultimately declared dead on December 2, 1950. He was in North Korea the Battle of Chosin Reservoir when his Battalion was attacked by enemy forces. He was identified on June 7, 2021.

Corporal Foreman was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.

Kenneth was born on March 29, 1931 to the late James Howard and Thelma Pearl Foreman in Brown County, Ohio. He is survived by his nieces and nephews, along with numerous great nieces and nephews.

Kenneth had two sister who are also both deceased JoAnne Bolender and Lennie Garrison.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at 1:00 pm at the Crosspoint Wesleyan Church located on 300 West Main Street, Mt. Orab, Ohio 45154, family and friends will be received beginning at 12:00 pm until the time of service. Burial will follow at Mt. Orab Cemetery. Chaplin David Long officiating.

In addition to his obituary and according to several state and locate news outlets, The remains of a 19-year-old Mount Orab man killed during the Korean War have now been positively identified.
The Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) announced Monday the soldier is Army Cpl. Kenneth Foreman.
Cpl. Foreman was a member of Company A, 1st Battalion, 32nd Infantry Regiment, 7th Infantry Division.
He was reported missing in action on Dec. 2, 1950 after his unit was attacked near the Chosin Reservoir in North Korea.
Following the battle, military officials said his remains could not be recovered.
On July 27, 2018, North Korean Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un turned over 55 boxes which reportedly carried the remains of American service members killed during the Korean War.
The remains arrived at Joint Base Pear Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii on Aug. 1, 2018 and were then brought to a DPAA laboratory for identification.
Cpl. Foreman's name is recorded on the Courts of the Missing at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific in Honolulu.
A rosette will now be placed next to his name to indicate he has been accounted for.
Cpl. Foreman will be buried in Mount Orab on Dec. 2.

The Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) announced Monday Army Cpl. Kenneth R. Foreman, 19, of Mount Orab, Ohio, who was killed during the Korean War, was accounted for on June 7, 2021.

Foreman was a member of Company A, 1st Battalion, 2nd Infantry Regiment, 7th Infantry Division. He was reported missing on December 2, 1950, after his unit was attacked as they attempted to withdraw near the Chosin Reservoir in North Korea, DPAA said. Following the battle, Foreman's remains were not revered.

In July 2018, following a summit between then-President Donald Trump and North Korea North Korean Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un in June, North Korea turned over 55 boxes, purported to contain the remains of American service members killed during the Korean War.
The remains arrived at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam in August 2018 and were sent to the DPAA lab for identification.

The DPAA said to identify Foreman's remains, scientists used anthropological analysis, as well as circumstantial evidence. They also used mitochondrial and autosomal DNA analysis.

Foreman's name is recorded on the Courts of the Missing at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific in Honolulu, along with the others who are still missing from the Korean War. A rosette will be placed next to his name to indicate he has been accounted for.

Foreman will be buried on December 2 in Mount Orab.
