Obituary,

A. MCDOUGALL, OLD GERMFASK PIONEER DIES --
Funeral Services for Well Known Resident of County to be Friday --
Angus McDougall, Germfask pioneer and widely known though out the vicinity, passed away suddenly at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning at the Newberry Clinic. He was 86 years old.

Mr. McDougall had been ill for only a few days, having gone to Newberry for treatment on Friday. He remained there under the care of a physician over the week end and was preparing for return to his home in Germfask when he was stricken.

He was born Feb. 28, 1854 in Beaverton, Ontario and came to Michigan in 1878, first settling in the Saginaw Valley. He followed the lumbering industry to the upper peninsula, coming to Manistique in 1880 to enter employ of the Chicago Lumbering Company as camp foreman.

He was married at Manistique in 1890 to Nellie Robinson and shortly after moved to Germfask where he opened the general store which he operated there continuously for the past 50 years. His wife died in 1900, and three years later he married Audie Clemens at Grand Rapids.

Mr. McDougall had been prominent in township affairs for several years, having served intermittently as supervisor for 16 years. He acted as notary public for 44 years, receiving his eleventh consecutive commission in March of this year.

Survivors besides his wife are one son, Herbert McDougall of Germfask and two daughters, Mrs. Maxine Heath and Mrs. Jean Lustila, also of Germfask. Another son, Lorne, was killed in an auto accident in 1930. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Jackie and Lorne Lustila and Jacquelyn Heath, two sisters residing in Alberta, Canada and a third in Beaverton, Ontario.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Methodist church in Germfask, Rev. D. Loyd Huenick officiating. Burial will be made in the Fairview cemetery under the direction of Kefauver and Jackson.
