Death of Mr. Alexander.
Mr. Jasper Alexander died yesterday afternoon at 5 o'clock, at his residence on West Seventh street. Deceased had been bed-ridden for four years. He had suffered patiently and had waited long for the release, which came yesterday. His last hours were painless, and he passed away peacefully, dying the death of the righteous, and his last end being as his. Mr. Alexander was a native of Sharon. He has been living in Charlotte for some years. He leaves a wife and family of children, and the following brothers and sisters: Messrs. W. B., J. K., A., M. B. and H. Alexander; Mrs. J. C. Stewart and Mrs. M. A. Alexander. He was a member of Graham Street Presbyterian church. The funeral services will be conducted this afternoon at 4 o'clock, at the residence, by Rev. W. A. Wynne.

Another Soldier Sleeps.
The funeral services over the remains of Mr. Jasper Alexander were held yesterday afternoon at 4 o'clock at the residence by Rev. W. A. Wynne. The house was filled with friends of the deceased. After a short and simple service the remains were taken to Elmwood, where they were interred. The pall-bearers were members of Mecklenburg Camp, deceased having been a Confederate soldier and a good one.
