Robert Woods Eoff was the son of Beverly M Eoff and Harriet Laidley Woods, natives of Wheeling, Ohio County, West Virginia. He was the oldest of eight children: Robert Woods Eoff, Elizabeth Stout Eoff (d.y.), John Ravenscroft Eoff, Margaret Roberta (Eoff) Caldwell, Charles William Eoff, Virginia Southgate Eoff (d.y) Josephine McCabe (Eoff) Cox and Beverly M Eoff (d.y.) Robert married 1/ Marion E Grover 1879 in Quincy, Adams Co, Illinois and 2/ Lily Agnes Prince June 5, 1891. His only child, Harolde Rufus Eoff, was the issue of his second marriage.
A well-educated and erudite gentleman, Robert Woods Eoff was a bank clerk and bookkeeper for banks in Kansas City Missouri and Chicago, Illinois, and in his senior years he was a laborer for a seed company.
In the early 1900's he compiled and had privately printed a series of pamphlets which contained information on the Eoff family. While containing some errors and having a limited scope these pamphlets undoubtedly preserved data which would otherwise have been lost. He collected information through correspondence with members of the various scattered branches of the Eoff family. He apparently was a very sociable man for he personally visited some of his correspondents at various times and wrote of his pleasure of these meetings. He died at the age of 74 years from hemorrhage and shock after a fall in Chicago.
