She was born October 8, 1949, in Harrisonburg, VA and was a daughter of Roland M. McNett of Bridgewater and the late Leah Argenbright McNett.
Mrs. Wheeler worked as a Senior Buyer for Shady Brook Farms in Dayton. She attended the Mount Crawford United Methodist Church, and was a member of the Women of the Moose. She was a graduate of Buffalo Gap High School and Madison College.
She was united in marriage on January 30, 1972, to Charles P. Wheeler, Jr., who preceded her in death on October 27, 1999.
Surviving, in addition to her father, are one brother, Doug McNett, Bridgewater, and one niece, Sarah McNett Kiracofe, Bridgewater.
A funeral service will be conducted at Mount Crawford United Methodist Church on February 9, 2001, at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Elinor Ritchie Dalton officiating. Burial will follow in the Sangerville Church of the Brethren Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 – 8 p.m. Thursday at Johnsons Funeral Service in Bridgewater. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1920-H Medical Ave., Harrisonburg, VA. 22801 or the Mount Crawford United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 84, Mount Crawford, VA. 22841.
