Born to William and Etta (Bastle) Donaldson, last born of 9 children. WW2 US Army Air Corps SSgt, North African Theater. Shot in lower leg over Corsica on 43rd mission. Awarded Air Medal with 9 Oak Leaf Clusters, Distinguished Unit Badge and Purple Heart. Married Daisy Lee Ervin December 16, 1933 at McArthur, Ohio. Resided at Canal Winchester, Ohio from 1940 (except for the WW2 years) until his death. In 1973 he was diagnosed with terminal colon cancer. He also suffered from chronic inherited depression his entire life.
