He was the son of Herbert and Loretta Mary (Rabyor) Babcock. A graduate of Janesville High School, he joined the United States Marine Corps on September 14, 1942. He served during World War II as an aircraft mechanic in the Pacific theater, and was discharged as a sergeant on November 21, 1945. Wesley married Dorothy L. Alwin on June 25, 1946. Following his discharge from the service, he worked as a United States postal carrier. From January 6, 1948 until January 1, 1979, he was employed by General Motors. Wesley was a member of First Congregational Church, U.A.W. Local #95, and will be remembered for his great love of the outdoors.
