Cubie Gore age 94 of Centralia, KS died Wednesday, December 5, 2007, at Eastridge Care Home in Centralia, KS. Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM Sunday, December 9, 2007, at the Muffley Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, December 10, 2007, at Muffley Funeral Home Chapel with Jon Forrest officiating. Private family burial will take place at Elida Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Vista Care Hospice of NM, 2708 N. Prince Street, Clovis, NM 88101 or Adult Sunday School, First Christian Church, 1700 North Main, Clovis, NM 88101.
Cubie was born August 28, 1913, to William Lee and Hattie Johnson Ridgway in Maybank, TX. In 1933 she married Floyd Gore in Elida, NM and they moved to Clovis, NM in 1942. She worked as the Lunch Room Manager for James Bickley. She was a former member of Central Christian Church and currently a member of First Christian Church. Cubie was an accomplished artist who decided at age 57 to take up painting and she painted for over 30 years. She displayed some of her work at arts and craft shows in New Mexico, Texas, Colorado, and Oklahoma.
Survivors include her son, Phil (Mary) Gore of Centralia, KS; two grandchildren, Lisa (John) Schmitz, and Jeff (Sonny) Gore both of Centralia, KS; seven great-grandchilden, Emily Schmitz, Jared Schmitz, Eric Schmitz, Holly Wempe, Hollis Gore, Jason Gore, and Isaac Gore; one great-great-grandchild, Breanna Schmitz; seven nieces, Johnnie Tweeten, Helen Witt, Wanda Parks, Margie Easter, Sue Richardson, Barbara Nichoff, and Marlene Campbell; six nephews, Roy Foster, Joe Foster, Bob Campbell, Jim Campbell, Leroy Thetford, and Jim Hawkins; a cousin, Fern Reichers; and numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Gore; and her parents, William and Hattie Ridgway.
