William H. Chapin, 79, died Sunday afternoon at St. Agnes Hospital following a week's illness. He had been living at 122 West Follett Street.

Born Sept. 10. 1880, in Fond du Lac, son of William H. Chapin and Maryette Burtch Chapin, he was married to Anna Hartman on Nov. 6, 1911 in Fond du Lac. She died Aug. 19, 1954.

Mr. Chapin was a well driller, worked for the former Sween Wagon Works, was a section foreman on the C.N.W. railroad for 10 years and had worked at Quicfrez, Inc. Mr. Chapin was a member of St. Paul's Cathedral.

Surviving are nieces and nephews. Mr. Chapin was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.
