Mary Laura Johnson Allred, known as Laura, was the fifth child of Joseph Horace Johnson and Julia Hills Eagar Johnson. She was born March 2, 1881, in Mona, Utah. When she was about three, her parents left Juab County, and went the family via horse and wagon to Moab.
The family originally planned to settle along the Animas River in Colorado. However, when they arrived there, it was not suitable and the young family went to Moab.
On January 18, 1899, she married Wilson Allred. A few years later, her younger sister, Sarah Anna, married Wilson's younger brother, Birt.
Laura and Wilson were the parents of Wilson Horace, Ila, Eugene Wayne, Julia, Carl Niels, Page Monroe and Waldo Frances Allred.
They lived in Moab and later in Monticello, Utah. Laura died May 14, 1957, in Monticello.
