Died, at 7 o'clock, Tuesday night, June 9, 1914, at St. John's hospital of a complication of diseases, Godfrey J. Thompson of 1120 Percey avenue, aged 76 years. The remains were removed to the undertaking establishment of Charles T. Bisch & Son, and later will be taken to the residence, from where funeral services will be held at a time to be announced later.
Decedent was born in Kentucky, and came to Illinois 35 years ago. For a time he followed farming, and retiring came to Springfield, where he has since resided.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lucinda Thompson, three sons, John, Edwin and Thomas Thompson, and one daughter, Mrs. Anna Hilton. IL State Journal, Springfield, IL, 6-10-1914
